Lama recently opened its doors to the Niagara market and has gained traction as one of the best hot new restaurants south of the QEW. Located in the charming town of Ridgeway, Lama is just a stone’s throw away from Lake Erie beaches, walking and biking trails, and the heart of a bustling historic downtown core.
The restaurant has great curb appeal and a lovely patio out front for the warmer months. Nicely decorated with a contemporary modern look and feel, Lama has an incredibly warm and inviting atmosphere.
Now the important part, the food. Wow! My entire party of 4 was completely blown away by the culinary skills and plate presentation of Lama’s talented Head Chef/Owner Matt.
For our appetizer, we shared a full portion of Seafood Chowder which was completely out of this world. It’s so good, that I’ve ordered it to go 3 times since I first tried it. (Pair it with their fresh crab cakes, you won’t be sorry.) I had the Sweet Potato gnocci for my main, which was an amazing follow up to the seafood chowder. The gnocci comes with a beautiful tomato cream sauce topped with fresh spinach and blue cheese crumble. I couldn’t have been happier with my meal and the quality/professionalism found at this great new restaurant. I highly recommend Lama and would strongly suggest it to any foodies looking for a great new Niagara flavour.
